Justin Kyle Schultz-Kierstead, 33, was charged Tuesday with one felony count of soliciting an individual to practice prostitution, one felony count of promoting prostitution, one felony count of receiving profits from prostitution and one felony count of engaging in sex trafficking.
A woman reported she had been sex trafficked by Schultz-Kierstead at various times dating back towhen she was 15 years old, until March The start date for the criminal complaint is Aug. The woman told investigators she believed it was her junior year of high school when Schultz-Kierstead first asked her if she wanted to make "easy money.
Shortly after, she began engaging in sexual acts for money in the Paynesville area. Schultz-Kierstead received the profits.
The woman reported Schultz-Kierstead to Paynesville Police inand the report says it is pending further investigation. When the woman turned 18, she said, Schultz-Kierstead started posting prostitution of her on Craigslist. The woman said sometimes she posted herself because if she did not, Schultz-Kierstead would abuse her. Most of the "dates" or "appointments" — which is how the complaint described the incidents — were in St.
Cloud and happened over years, according to the complaint. The woman said she never received money from the sexual acts, and Shultz-Kierstead told her he was caring for her by providing food, cigarettes and a place to live.
Schultz-Kierstead would also force the woman to have sex with him, according to the complaint, and assaulted the woman throughout the years until An investigator spoke with Schultz-Kierstead shortly after he was served, and he told the investigator he was trying to help the woman out of prostitution.

The investigator confirmed the on the screenshots belonged to Schultz-Kierstead, but Schultz-Kierstead said they were not from him. Schultz-Kierstead admitted he knew the woman was making money from prostitution and that he would give her rides to St. Cloud for "appointments" and get money from her for gas. He said he would drop her off at McDonald's to meet people and she would leave in a car.
Schultz-Kierstead estimated he had driven the woman approximately 60 times in his lifetime. He said he would drive her because "he felt it was safer to do that than allow her to go with a male he identified as her actual trafficker who assaulted her," according to the complaint.
He admitted the Craigslist were posted using his address, but he told investigators it was because no one else is able to into a different on his phone. Schultz-Kierstead admitted he would read the Craigslist responses because they were on his phone.
In Januaryan investigator spoke with a witness identified as one of the woman's sex buyers. The witness said "he would routinely purchase 'prostitutes'" from Schultz-Kierstead, according to the complaint.
The witness said he believed he had purchased around thirty different prostitutes from Schultz-Kierstead throughout the years. Support local journalism.
